...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Southeastern Bell County in southeastern Kentucky...
  Southwestern Harlan County in southeastern Kentucky...

* WHEN...Until 700 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
  Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is
  imminent.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 402 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain
    have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1.5 inches are expected over
    the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Harlan, Loyall, Evarts, Wallins Creek, Kentenia, Liggett, White
    Star, Mary Alice, Teetersville, Tremont, Elcomb, Hensley Store,
    Martins Fork, Peepace Store, Sunshine, Tway, Pathfork, Coldiron,
    Grays Knob and Baxter.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.

The Flood Advisory is replaced by a Flash Flood Warning for a portion
of southeast Kentucky, including the following areas, Bell and
Harlan.

The threat for widespread flooding has increased over the area.
Therefore the Flood Advisory has been replaced by a Flash Flood
Warning. Please refer to that bulletin for more information.
