...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 845 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Southeastern Clay County in southeastern Kentucky...
  Central Leslie County in southeastern Kentucky...

* WHEN...Until 845 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
  Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is
  imminent.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 540 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 2 inches of rain
    have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall is ongoing across the advisory area. This
    additional rain may allow minor flooding to persist or worsen.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Hyden, Hosea, Essie, Stinnett, Hoskinston, Asher, Wendover,
    Thousandsticks, Bobs Fork, Roark, Spring Creek, Creekville,
    Marcum, Bear Branch, Queendale, Big Creek, Cinda, Skidmore,
    Wooton and Smilax.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.

The Flood Advisory is replaced by a Flash Flood Warning for a portion
of southeast Kentucky, including the following areas, Clay and
Leslie.

The threat for widespread flooding has increased over the area.
Therefore the Flood Advisory has been replaced by a Flash Flood
