...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM EDT THIS EVENING...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...Northwestern Knox County in southeastern Kentucky...
* WHEN...Until 1000 PM EDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is
imminent.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 656 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 2 inches of rain
have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the
area. This additional rain will allow minor flooding to persist
or worsen.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Barbourville, Emmanuel, Lowell, Bentley Station, Baileys Switch,
Garrich, Dishman Springs, Heidrick, Arkle, Indian Creek,
Swanpond, Rossland, Jarvis, Swan Lake, Cannon, Bertha Station,
Girdler, Permon, Hinkle and Green Road.

Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law

thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2.5 inches of rain
have fallen.
- Additional light rainfall is ongoing across the area. This
additional rain will allow any ongoing minor flooding to persist.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Barbourville, Dishman Springs, Indian Creek, Swan Lake, Permon,
Swanpond, Wilton and Providence.
