The National Weather Service in Burlington has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  South Central Windsor County in southern Vermont...

* Until 730 PM EDT.

* At 452 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing 
  heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain 
  have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are 
  possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected 
  to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Chester and Springfield.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become 
unstable and unsafe.

...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 730 PM EDT THIS 
EVENING FOR SOUTH CENTRAL WINDSOR COUNTY...

At 551 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy 
rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have 
fallen along the Windsor Windham county line near Chester. Localized 
flash flooding will remain possible through 7 pm.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
         highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
         drainage and low-lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Chester and Springfield.

Heavy rain has ended across the area. However, runoff from prior 
heavy rainfall will continue for another hour or two. No new flash 
flooding is expected, but streams will continue to run high into the 
evening hours.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.
