The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Central Washington County in southwestern Utah...

* Until 915 PM MDT.

* At 720 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing 
  heavy rain in Snow Canyon State Park, including Snow Canyon and 
  Johnson Canyon. Between 0.75 and 1.25 inches of rain have fallen. 
  Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms
           producing flash flooding.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of normally dry
           washes, creeks and streams, backcountry roads, and
           slot canyons.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Snow Canyon State Park.

This includes the following streams and drainages...
  Santa Clara River.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where 
you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become 
killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or 
creeks.

...FLASH FLOOD WARNING WILL EXPIRE AT 915 PM MDT THIS EVENING FOR 
CENTRAL WASHINGTON COUNTY...

While light rain continues over Snow Canyon State Park, the heavy 
rain that prompted the Warning has diminished. Flooding is no longer 
expected to pose a significant threat as runoff from the earlier 
heavy rain continues to recede. Please continue to heed remaining 
closures.
