The National Weather Service in Springfield has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Howell County in south central Missouri...
  Oregon County in south central Missouri...
  Shannon County in south central Missouri...
  Southeastern Texas County in south central Missouri...
  Southeastern Douglas County in southwestern Missouri...
  Eastern Ozark County in southwestern Missouri...

* Until 1145 PM CDT Friday.

* At 343 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing 
  heavy rain across the warned area. Between 0.5 and 2.5 inches of 
  rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 0.5 to 1.5 inches 
  per hour hour. Heavy rainfall is expected through much or all of 
  the night tonight. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin 
  shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  West Plains, Mountain View, Thayer, Willow Springs, Winona, Alton, 
  Gainesville, Birch Tree, Eminence, Summersville, Bakersfield, 
  Pomona, South Fork, Koshkonong, Pontiac, Brandsville, Montier, 
  Thomasville, Peace Valley, White Church, Teresita, Rover, Pine 
  Crest, Arroll, Clear Springs, Greer, Alley Spring, Eunice, 
  Pottersville, Lanton, Siloam Springs, Hartshorn, West Eminence, 
  Couch, Moody, Caulfield, Round Spring, Akers, Dora and Wilderness.

This includes the following low water crossings...
  Mahans Creek at County Road 501, North Fork River at County Road 
  278, Warm Fork Spring River at County Road 323, Big Creek at 
  County Road 390, South Fork Jacks Fork River at Stillhouse Road, 
  Howell Creek at County Road 9790 and Lick Creek at County Road 528.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Many flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1145 PM CDT THIS 
EVENING FOR HOWELL, OREGON, SHANNON, SOUTHEASTERN TEXAS, 
SOUTHEASTERN DOUGLAS AND EASTERN OZARK COUNTIES...

At 903 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated 
thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 
1.5 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up 
to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is 
ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
