The National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill MO has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Linn County in east central Kansas...
  Miami County in east central Kansas...
  Western Bates County in west central Missouri...
  Southwestern Cass County in west central Missouri...

* Until 900 PM CDT.

* At 455 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing 
  heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 3.5 inches of 
  rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are 
  possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected 
  to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Harrisonville, Paola, Peculiar, Osawatomie, Louisburg, Butler, 
  Adrian, Rich Hill, Pleasanton, La Cygne, Mound City, Archie, 
  Drexel, Linn Valley, Cleveland, Freeman, Hume, Parker, Blue Mound 
  and Prescott.

This includes Interstate 49 between mile markers 118 and 166.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.
