The National Weather Service in St Louis has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Central Boone County in central Missouri...

* Until midnight CDT tonight.

* At 1003 PM CDT, local law enforcement reported heavy rain 
  producing water over the road in Route N at Brook Valley Drive, 
  causing a stranded vehicle. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have 
  fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in 
  the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Law enforcement reported.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Columbia, Ashland, Columbia Regional Airport, Easley and Murry.

This includes the following State Parks...
Rock Bridge State Park and Jewell Cemetery Historic Site.

This includes Interstate 70 in Missouri between exits 121 and 133.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.

FOR CENTRAL BOONE COUNTY...

At 1021 PM CDT, emergency management reported water over the roadway 
from heavy rain in Hill Creek Road and Cave Creek Road, west of 
Pierpont. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional 
rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash 
flooding is already occurring.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Emergency management reported.

amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding 
is already occurring.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.

SOURCE...Emergency management reported numerous areas with water
         over the roadway.
