The National Weather Service in Binghamton has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  South Central to Southeastern Chenango County in central New York...
  Southwestern Otsego County in central New York...

* Until 115 AM EDT.

* At 1015 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing 
  heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain 
  have fallen. Though the heaviest rain has already occurred, rises 
  in creeks and streams are likely in progress, and additional 
  rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. 
  Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Guilford, Coventry, Unadilla, Rockdale, South Oxford, Mt Upton, 
  Brisben and Smithville Center.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.

SOUTHEASTERN CHENANGO AND SOUTHWESTERN OTSEGO COUNTIES...
