The National Weather Service in St Louis has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for...
Central Crawford County in east central Missouri...
Northwestern Washington County in east central Missouri...
* Until 630 PM CDT.
* At 412 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain
have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are
possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Steelville, Anthonies Mill, Leasburg, Cherryville, Richwoods and
Cook Station.
This includes the following State Parks...
Onondaga Cave State Park.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

The heavy rain is nearing an end, but lingering light to moderate
rain, combined with runoff from earlier rain, may continue to cause
minor flooding issues. Therefore, the Flash Flood Warning has been
