The National Weather Service in Topeka has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Lyon County in east central Kansas...

* Until 215 PM CDT.

* At 1015 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated 
  thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 
  1.5 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts 
  of 1 to 3 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding 
  is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Emporia, Americus, Olpe, Hartford, Neosho Rapids and Reading.

This includes the following highways...
Kansas Turnpike between mile markers 117 and 145.
Interstate 35 between mile markers 128 and 143.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

The heaviest rainfall has ended across the area and the Flash Flood
