The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for...
Southern Pike County in southeastern Alabama...
* Until 315 PM CDT.
* At 1122 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain
have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 2 to 3 inches in 1
hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in
the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Troy, Brundidge, Goshen, Springhill, Mossy Grove, Tarentum,
Henderson, Hamilton Crossroads, Brundidge Municipal Airport and
Tennille.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 315 PM CDT THIS
AFTERNOON FOR SOUTHERN PIKE COUNTY...
At 1236 PM CDT, local law enforcement reported thunderstorms
producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 4 inches
of rain have fallen. The Pike County Commission has reported that
multiple roadways are impassable.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Law enforcement reported.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.
Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...

The heavy rain has ended, however some dirt roads remain impassable.
Please continue to heed remaining road closures. The Flash Flood
Warning has been replaced by a Flood Advisory.
A Flood Watch remains in effect until 700 PM CDT for a portion of
central Alabama.
