The National Weather Service in Mobile has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for...
George County in southeastern Mississippi...
Southeastern Stone County in southeastern Mississippi...
* Until 930 PM CDT.
* At 627 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain
have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are
possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Lucedale, McHenry, Dale, Evanston, Agricola, Vaughn, Movella,
Ramsey Springs and Shipman.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Move to higher ground now. Act quickly to protect your life.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

The National Weather Service in Mobile has extended the
* Flash Flood Warning for...
George County in southeastern Mississippi...
Southeastern Stone County in southeastern Mississippi...
* Until 1100 PM CDT.
* At 925 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms that produced
excessive rainfall across the warned area. Between 8 and 10 inches
of rain have fallen and has recently become to an end. Significant
flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is
expected in the near term. Many streams and creeks are likely well
out of their banks and several roads may have deep fast moving
water flowing across them. Do not drive into areas where water
covers the roadway as some roads may be washed out beneath the
water of unknown depths.

...FLASH FLOOD WARNING WILL EXPIRE AT 11 PM CDT THIS EVENING FOR
GEORGE AND SOUTHEASTERN STONE COUNTIES...
The heavy rain has ended temporarily. Additional heavy rainfall will
be possible later tonight which may result in additional flash
flooding. Please continue to heed remaining road closures and do not
attempt to drive through areas where water covers the roadway. This
is especially dangerous at night as it is impossible to determine the
depth of the water or whether the roadway has been washed out beneath
the flood waters.
A Flood Watch remains in effect until 600 PM CDT Friday for portions
of Alabama, northwest Florida, and southeast Mississippi.
