The National Weather Service in San Angelo has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for...
Southern McCulloch County in west central Texas...
Southwestern San Saba County in west central Texas...
* Until 600 AM CDT.
* At 259 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Up to 3.5 inches of rain have
fallen in parts of southwestern San Saba and southern McCulloch
Counties. Additional rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are possible
in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Brady, Voca, Camp San Saba, Calf Creek, Sloan, The Intersection Of
Us-190 And Ranch Road 1311 and Us-190 Near The Menard-Mcculloch
County Line.
This includes the following Low Water Crossings...
FM 1851 crossing Tiger Creek, South High between 14th and 15th
Streets, 17th Street between Pine and College, crossings along
County Road 238, County Road 212 crossing San Saba River, County
Road 216 crossing Mud Creek and CR 340 crossing San Saba River.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.
