* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Northwestern Edgecombe County in central North Carolina...
  Central Halifax County in central North Carolina...
  Northeastern Nash County in central North Carolina...

* Until 1115 PM EDT.

* At 820 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain in Tillery. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen.
  Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
           highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
           drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Scotland Neck, Enfield, Whitakers, Tillery and Battleboro.

This includes the following frequently flooded locations...
NC Hwy 125 near Conoconnara Swamp.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

CENTRAL HALIFAX AND NORTHEASTERN NASH COUNTIES...

The heavy rain has ended. Flash flooding is no longer expected to
pose a threat. However, a flood advisory remains in effect for the
warned area and light to moderate rain continues. Please continue to
heed remaining road closures and use caution where water may be
lingering on area roadways.
