* Until 615 AM CDT.
* At 1216 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain
have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 3 inches are
possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.

Iowa City, Muscatine, Washington, Tipton, Marengo, West Branch,
Sigourney, Columbus Junction, Durant, Coralville, North Liberty,
West Liberty, Williamsburg, Wilton, Kalona, Tiffin, Wellman, Lone

Interstate 80 in Iowa between mile markers 205 and 277. Interstate
380 between mile markers 1 and 7.

MORNING FOR SOUTHERN CEDAR, IOWA, JOHNSON, MUSCATINE, KEOKUK,
NORTHWESTERN LOUISA AND WASHINGTON COUNTIES...
At 145 AM CDT, Trained weather spotters reported the creek in Kalona,
Iowa is out of its banks and still rising. Between 1 and 2 inches of
rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are
possible in the warned area as additional storms move through the
area.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Trained spotters reported.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.

NORTHWESTERN LOUISA AND WASHINGTON COUNTIES...
At 443 AM CDT, Trained weather spotters reported flash flooding in
Kalona. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen across portions of
the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing. Rain has tapered off to
mainly light to at times moderate rain, with the heaviest rain having
already occurred. Be alert for rapid rises and flooding on area
streams, creeks and along the English River. Washington County
deputies reported around a foot of water was covering the
intersection of 133rd Street and Nutmeg Street in Kalona due to the
English River being out its banks.
