The National Weather Service in Fort Worth has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Southwestern Collin County in north central Texas...
  Northern Dallas County in north central Texas...
  Southeastern Denton County in north central Texas...

* Until 200 AM CDT.

* At 1123 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing 
  heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain 
  have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are 
  forecast. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
           highways, streets, and underpasses as well as other
           poor drainage and low lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Dallas, Plano, Garland, Irving, Carrollton, Frisco, Richardson, 
  Lewisville, Allen, Flower Mound, Rowlett, Grapevine, Wylie, 
  Coppell, The Colony, Farmers Branch, Sachse, Highland Village, 
  Addison and Murphy.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

* Flash Flood Warning for...

* Until 300 AM CDT.

* At 145 AM CDT, flash flooding was ongoing due to rainfall from 
  earlier thunderstorms. Between 3 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. 
  Flash flooding is already occurring. Emergency management reported 
  flooded roadways and water rescues in the Rowlett and Sachse 
  areas. Reports of stalled vehicles along US 75 and 15th Street 
  near Plano as well.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Emergency management reported.

FOR SOUTHWESTERN COLLIN, NORTHERN DALLAS AND SOUTHEASTERN DENTON

Flood waters have receded. The heavy rain has ended. Flooding of low 
lying and/or poor drainage areas may continue for a few hours until 
the water has had a chance to recede. Please continue to heed 
remaining road closures.
