The National Weather Service in El Paso Tx/Santa Teresa has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Central El Paso County in western Texas...

* Until 200 AM MDT.

* At 1232 AM MDT, A thunderstorm with torrential rainfall rates has
  produced nearly .75 inches of rain in 30 minutes near Socorro. This
  storm is about to move over areas in southeast and central El Paso
  which have already received up to 1.50 inches of rain earlier this
  evening.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of arroyos, urban areas, highways, streets
           and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and
           low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  East, Central and Southeast El Paso, Mission Valley, Fort Bliss,
  Socorro and Sparks.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
