The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Eastern Cibola County in west central New Mexico...

* Until 500 PM MDT.

* At 204 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain over and near Laguna Pueblo, including I-25. Between 1
  and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of
  0.5 to 0.75 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding
  is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
           highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
           drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Laguna Pueblo, New Laguna, Mesita and Paraje.

This includes Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 108 and 118.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM MDT THIS
AFTERNOON FOR EASTERN CIBOLA COUNTY...

At 319 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated that the thunderstorms
producing heavy rain near Laguna Pueblo had ended, but another storm
producing heavy rain was approaching from the southwest. Between 1.25
and 1.75 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of
0.25 to 0.75 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding
is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

EASTERN CIBOLA COUNTY...

Light to moderate rain will continue over the area and flows of water
in arroyos as well as ponding of water in low spots may persist.
However, the heavy rain has ended. Flash flooding is no longer
expected to pose a threat. Please continue to heed any remaining road
closures.
