The National Weather Service in Goodland has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Southeastern Sherman County in northwestern Kansas...

* Until 645 PM MDT.

* At 615 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 13 miles south of
  Goodland, moving north at 20 mph.

  THIS IS A DESTRUCTIVE STORM FOR Goodland and Edson.

  HAZARD...80 mph wind gusts.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without 
           shelter. Mobile homes will be heavily damaged. Expect 
           considerable damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles. 
           Extensive tree damage and power outages are likely.

* Locations impacted include...
  Goodland and Edson.

This includes Interstate 70 in Kansas between mile markers 14 and 31.
 
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

This is an EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION. This storm is producing 
widespread wind damage SEEK SHELTER NOW inside a sturdy structure 
and stay away from windows!

This thunderstorm will produce strong winds resulting in areas of
near zero visibility in blowing dirt. Use extreme caution if you must
travel and be alert for rapidly changing visibility.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

FOR SOUTHEASTERN SHERMAN COUNTY...

At 624 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 9 miles south of
Goodland, moving north at 20 mph.

THIS IS A DESTRUCTIVE STORM FOR Goodland and locales just north of 
Goodland.

HAZARD...80 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE..Mesonet. A 79 mph wind gust was reported north of Goodland.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without 
         shelter. Mobile homes will be heavily damaged. Expect 
         considerable damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles.
