The National Weather Service in Sterling Virginia has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  South central Fauquier County in northern Virginia...
  Culpeper County in northern Virginia...

* Until 630 PM EDT.

* At 554 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Culpeper,
  moving northeast at 25 mph.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Damaging winds will cause some trees and large branches 
           to fall. This could injure those outdoors, as well as 
           damage homes and vehicles. Roadways may become blocked by 
           downed trees. Localized power outages are possible. 
           Unsecured light objects may become projectiles.

* Locations impacted include...
  Culpeper, Catalpa, Elkwood, Stevensburg, Brandy Station, Opal,
  Jeffersonton, Turnbull, Midland, Bealeton, Cardova, Reva,
  Rixeyville, Alanthus, Remington, Boston, and Winston.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM EDT for northern,
central and northwestern Virginia.

...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 630 PM EDT
FOR SOUTH CENTRAL FAUQUIER AND CENTRAL CULPEPER COUNTIES...

At 607 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 8 miles northeast of
Culpeper, moving northeast at 25 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Damaging winds will cause some trees and large branches to 
         fall. This could injure those outdoors, as well as damage 
         homes and vehicles. Roadways may become blocked by downed 
         trees. Localized power outages are possible. Unsecured

...THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING FOR SOUTH CENTRAL FAUQUIER AND
CENTRAL CULPEPER COUNTIES WILL EXPIRE AT 630 PM EDT...

The storm which prompted the warning is moving out of the area.
Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire.  However, heavy
rain is still possible with this thunderstorm.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM EDT for northern and
northwestern Virginia.
