* Until 800 PM EDT.
* At 717 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 8 miles west of
Fremont, or 13 miles east of Smithfield, moving east at 20 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
* Locations impacted include...
Smithfield, Fremont, Micro, Selma, Four Oaks, Pine Level, Kenly,
Princeton, Lucama, and Stantonsburg.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 95 between Mile Markers 107 and 90.
NC Highway 264 between Mile Markers 44 and 49, and between Mile
Markers 51 and 56.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of natures leading
killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to
be struck by lightning.
Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe
limits, and no longer poses an immediate threat to life or property.
Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire. However, gusty
winds and heavy rain are still possible with this thunderstorm. A
Special Weather Statement is still in effect until 8:15 PM for wind
gusts up to 50 mph.
