Southwestern Iredell County in the Piedmont of North Carolina... * Until 415 PM EDT. * At 331 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 9 miles northeast of Newton, or over Lookout Shoals Lake, moving southwest at 25 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect damage to trees and power lines. * Locations impacted include... southwest at 30 mph.

Locations impacted include...
Newton, Conover, Maiden, Claremont, Catawba, Sherrills Ford, Bandys,
Startown, Terrell, and Propst.
