  Southeastern Mitchell County in western North Carolina...
  Southwestern Avery County in western North Carolina...

* Until 415 PM EDT.

* At 314 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Spruce Pine,
  moving south at 5 mph.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Expect damage to trees and power lines.

* Locations impacted include...
  Spruce Pine, Linville Falls, Ingalls, Little Switzerland, and North
  Cove.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

FOR NORTH CENTRAL MCDOWELL...SOUTHEASTERN MITCHELL AND SOUTHWESTERN

At 330 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Spruce Pine, 
and is nearly stationary. Another severe storm was located near 
Ingalls and also was stationary.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.

SOUTHEASTERN MITCHELL AND SOUTHWESTERN AVERY COUNTIES IS CANCELLED...

The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe
limits, and no longer poses an immediate threat to life or property.
Therefore, the warning has been cancelled.  However, heavy rain is
still possible with this thunderstorm.
