  Southwestern Burke County in western North Carolina...

* Until 430 PM EDT.

* At 352 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 11 miles southwest
  of Morganton, or 8 miles south of Glen Alpine, and is nearly
  stationary.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Expect damage to trees and power lines.

* Locations impacted include...
  Dysartsville and South Mountains State Park.

FOR SOUTHEASTERN MCDOWELL AND SOUTHWESTERN BURKE COUNTIES...

At 404 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 12 miles southeast
of Marion, or 9 miles west of South Mountains State Park, and is
nearly stationary.

...THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING FOR SOUTHEASTERN MCDOWELL AND
SOUTHWESTERN BURKE COUNTIES WILL EXPIRE AT 430 PM EDT...

The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe
limits, and no longer poses an immediate threat to life or property.
Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire.  However, heavy
rain is still possible with this thunderstorm.
