* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
Northwestern Habersham County in northeastern Georgia...
Southwestern Rabun County in northeastern Georgia...
* Until 515 PM EDT.
* At 427 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 10 miles north of
Clarkesville, or 4 miles south of Lake Burton, moving south at 5
mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Minor hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind
damage to trees and power lines.
* Locations impacted include...
Tiger, Lake Rabun, Lake Burton, Seed Lake, Batesville, and
Lakemont.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
If on or near Lake Burton, get away from the water and move indoors
or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 15 miles
from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close
enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not
be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.

FOR NORTHWESTERN HABERSHAM AND SOUTHWESTERN RABUN COUNTIES...
At 434 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 9 miles north of
Clarkesville, or 5 miles south of Lake Burton, moving south at 5 mph.
HAZARD...Ping pong ball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail
damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect wind
damage to trees and power lines.
Locations impacted include...
Tiger, Lake Rabun, Lake Burton, Seed Lake, Batesville, and Lakemont.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Prepare immediately for large hail and damaging winds. People outside
should move to a shelter, inside a strong building and away from
