The National Weather Service in Topeka has issued a
* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
Geary County in east central Kansas...
Morris County in east central Kansas...
* Until 715 PM CDT.
* At 625 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from 7 miles south of Junction City to near Burdick,
moving northeast at 35 mph.
THESE ARE DESTRUCTIVE STORMS FOR Latimer and Parkerville.
HAZARD...80 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
SOURCE...Law enforcement. At 619 PM CDT, law enforcement reported
wind gusts in Herington around 75 mph.
IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be heavily damaged. Expect
considerable damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles.
Extensive tree damage and power outages are likely.
* Locations impacted include...
Herington, Council Grove, White City, Dwight, Wilsey, Parkerville,
Latimer, Council Grove Lake, and Burdick.
This includes Interstate 70 between mile markers 306 and 316.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
This is a DANGEROUS SITUATION. These storms are producing wind
damage. SEEK SHELTER NOW inside a sturdy structure and stay away

FOR SOUTHEASTERN GEARY AND CENTRAL MORRIS COUNTIES...
At 636 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from 5 miles south of Grandview Plaza to 4 miles west of
Wilsey, moving northeast at 35 mph.
THESE ARE DESTRUCTIVE STORMS FOR Parkerville and Dwight.
HAZARD...80 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
SOURCE...Public. At 630 PM CDT, a personal weather station measured
wind gusts of 73 MPH 3 miles southeast of Grandview Plaza.
IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be heavily damaged. Expect
considerable damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles.
Extensive tree damage and power outages are likely.

Council Grove, White City, Dwight, Wilsey, Parkerville, and Council

At 655 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from 9 miles southeast of Ogden to 3 miles west of Council
Grove Lake, moving northeast at 35 mph.
HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable
tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes,
roofs, and outbuildings.
Locations impacted include...
Council Grove, Dwight, and Council Grove Lake.
This includes Interstate 70 between mile markers 307 and 316.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Prepare immediately for damaging winds. People outside should move
to a shelter, inside a strong building and away from windows.

CENTRAL MORRIS COUNTIES IS CANCELLED...
The storms which prompted the warning have moved out of the area.
Therefore, the warning has been cancelled. However, gusty winds are
still possible with these thunderstorms.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM CDT for
northeastern and east central Kansas.
