URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE
National Weather Service La Crosse WI
636 PM CDT Tue Apr 1 2025

...ACCUMULATING SNOW THIS EVENING, WINTRY MIX OVERNIGHT...

.Band of wet snow will push north across the area through mid to late
evening, dropping visibilities to 1/2 mile or less at times with
accumulations on cold surfaces first, and then roads. A quick 1 to 3
inches of snow is possible in just 2 to 3 hours. The snow band is
expected to lift north after midnight.

Overnight, snow is expected to become more of a wintry mix with
light icing possible. The icing threat will linger into the mid
morning hours of Wednesday.

Travel will be impacted quickly after onset of the heavier snow band
as wet roads acquire a snow cover and snowfall rates severely hamper
visibilities. Exercise caution or avoid travel if you can.

URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE
National Weather Service La Crosse WI
1001 PM CDT Tue Apr 1 2025

...BAND OF SNOW MOVING THROUGH, MORE SNOW TO WINTRY MIX OVERNIGHT...

.A band of wet snow continues to push north northeast across northern
Wisconsin at late evening. The band is dropping a quick 1 to 3" over
the span of 2 to 3 hours, with the bulk of the accumulations on
colder, grassy surfaces. Within the band visibilities drop to 1/2
mile while roads acquire at least a light coating of snow. Impacts
to travel continue.

Overnight, the snow band will exit northward and precipitation will
lighten up, but another round of snow to a wintry mix, including
freezing rain, will move in for the early morning hours of
Wednesday. Light icing could result. Impacts to travel could
continue through the morning commute.
