...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 530 PM PDT THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of central and northern California, including the 
  following counties, in central California, Madera and Mariposa. In 
  northern California, Tuolumne.

* WHEN...Until 530 PM PDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. 

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 337 PM PDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area. Up to 1 inch of rain has
    fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over
    the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Merced Lake Ranger Station, Merced Lake High Sierra Camp,
    Vogelsang High Sierra Camp and Morraine Dome Campground.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

It is important to know where you are relative to streams, rivers, 
or creeks which can become killers in heavy rains. Campers and 
hikers should avoid streams or creeks.
