...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 845 AM CDT THIS MORNING...
* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive
rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...A portion of central Alabama, including the following
counties, Autauga, Elmore, Lowndes and Montgomery.
* WHEN...Until 845 AM CDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 535 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream
flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Montgomery, Prattville, Millbrook, Coosada, Autaugaville,
Hunter, Maxwell Air Force Base, Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium,
Alabama State Capitol, Woodcrest, Alabama State University,
Boylston, Montgomery Zoo, Dannelly Field, Autauga County
Airport, Bob Woodruff Lake, Gunter Air Force Base, Lagoon
Park, Eastdale Mall and Booth.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
