* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...Southeastern Buncombe County in western North Carolina...
Northeastern Henderson County in western North Carolina...
North Central Polk County in western North Carolina...
Northwestern Rutherford County in western North Carolina...
* WHEN...Until 200 AM EDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1054 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have
fallen.
- Locations in southeastern Buncombe County along Rock Creek Road,
Press Owenby Drive could see nuisance to minor flooding develop.
Locations in northeastern Henderson County along Grant Mountain
Road and Morning Air Lane could see nuisance to minor flooding
develop. Locations in western Rutherford County along Wolf Creek
Drive could also see nuisance to minor flooding develop.

Lake Lure, Chimney Rock Village, Chimney Rock State Park, Bat
Cave, Gerton and Shingle Hollow.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Keep children away from storm drains, culverts, creeks and streams.
Water levels can rise rapidly and sweep children away.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the

The Flood Advisory is replaced by a Flash Flood Warning for a portion
of western North Carolina, including the following areas, Buncombe,
Henderson, Polk and Rutherford.
The threat of flooding continues and a Flash Flood Warning is now in
effect. Please refer to that bulletin for more information.
