...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 AM CDT THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Boone County in north central Illinois...
  Winnebago County in north central Illinois...
  McHenry County in northeastern Illinois...

* WHEN...Until 800 AM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding
  may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Roads and streets may
  be flooded.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 428 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area. Up to 1 inch of rain has fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over
    the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Rockford, Crystal Lake, Algonquin, Lake in the Hills, McHenry,
    Belvidere, Woodstock, Huntley, Loves Park, Machesney Park,
    Roscoe, Fox Lake, Harvard, Island Lake, South Beloit, Rockton,
    Marengo, Poplar Grove, Rockford Airport, Cary, Johnsburg,
    Lakemoor, Spring Grove and Candlewick Lake.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flood Advisory means minor flooding along waterways and other poor
drainage areas is imminent or may already be occurring. Persons in
the advisory area should use caution and avoid flood waters.

Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

...FLOOD ADVISORY WILL EXPIRE AT 8 AM CDT THIS MORNING...

The Flood Advisory will expire at 8 AM CDT this morning for portions
of north central and northeast Illinois, including the following
areas, in north central Illinois, Boone and Winnebago. In northeast
Illinois, McHenry.

Flooding is no longer expected to pose a threat. However, additional
rainfall is expected late this morning into the afternoon.

A Flood Watch remains in effect until 100 PM CDT for portions of
Illinois and northwest Indiana...
