* WHERE...Kankakee County in northeastern Illinois...
Southeastern Will County in northeastern Illinois...
Northern Jasper County in northwestern Indiana...

Northern Newton County in northwestern Indiana...
Porter County in northwestern Indiana...
* WHEN...Until 800 AM CDT.
* IMPACTS...Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding
may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Roads and streets may
be flooded.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 457 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Up to 1 inch of rain has fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over
the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Hammond, Gary, Portage, Merrillville, Valparaiso, East Chicago,
Schererville, Hobart, Kankakee, Crown Point, Highland, Munster,
Park Forest, Bourbonnais, Bradley, Chesterton, Cedar Lake,
Steger, Lowell, Manteno, Peotone, DeMotte and Hebron.

A Flood Advisory means minor flooding along waterways and other poor
drainage areas is imminent or may already be occurring. Persons in
the advisory area should use caution and avoid flood waters.

- At 711 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
heavy rain due to thunderstorms earlier this morning. Minor
flooding is ongoing in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches
of rain have fallen.
- Though heavy rain has ended, creeks and streams may remain
elevated this morning.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
