* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...Northwestern Smyth County in southwestern Virginia...
* WHEN...Until 345 AM EDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1252 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have
fallen.
- This includes the following streams and drainages...
Middle Fork Holston River, North Fork Holston River, Laurel
Springs Creek, Beaver Creek, Hungry Mother Creek, Campbell Creek,
Locust Cove Creek, Laurel Creek and Crewey Branch.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Saltville, Chilhowie, Broadford, Quarry and Adwolf.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

including mudslides or flooded roads, to the National Weather Service
