...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 630 PM MDT THIS EVENING...
* WHAT...Arroyo and small stream flooding caused by excessive
rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...North Central Socorro County in central New Mexico...
Southwestern Valencia County in central New Mexico...
* WHEN...Until 630 PM MDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. Dangerous flows
over low-water crossings.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 333 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms moving east across northern Socorro County. This
will cause arroyo and small stream flooding. Between 1 and 1.5
inches of rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 0.25 to 0.5 inches are expected
over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
San Acacia, La Joya, Bernardo, Veguita, Chamizal, Contreras,
Abeytas, Sabinal and Las Nutrias.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Both localized and distant heavy rainfall will create sudden and
dangerous flows in arroyos and over low water crossings. Turn around
dont drown!

The Flood Advisory is replaced by a Flash Flood Warning for a portion
of central New Mexico, including the following areas, Socorro and
Valencia.
