...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 715 PM MDT THIS EVENING...
* WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive
rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...South Central Dona Ana County in south central New
Mexico...
Northwestern El Paso County in western Texas...
* WHEN...Until 715 PM MDT.
* IMPACTS...Water over roadways. Overflowing poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 545 PM MDT, Thunderstorms with torrential rainfall rates of 2
to 3 inches per hour are moving into Central El Paso and Sunland
Park. Expect very heavy rainfall for about 10 to 20 minutes,
which will lead to localized flooding in poor drainage areas.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
East, Central, and West El Paso, Santa Teresa, Sunland Park.
Portions of Loop-375, including the Border Highway, and I-10 will
be impacted by very heavy rainfall.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

The Flood Advisory for Central El Paso and Sunland Park will expire
at 715 PM MDT this evening.
The heavy rain has ended. Flood waters have receded. Urban area and
small stream flooding is no longer expected to pose a threat. Please
continue to heed remaining road closures.
A Flood Watch remains in effect until 700 PM MDT Wednesday for
portions of New Mexico and southwest Texas...
