  West central Wayne County in central North Carolina...
  Northwestern Sampson County in central North Carolina...
  East central Harnett County in central North Carolina...
  Southeastern Wake County in central North Carolina...
  Johnston County in central North Carolina...

* Until 700 PM EDT.

* At 610 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Clayton, or
  10 miles northwest of Smithfield, moving south at 30 mph.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
  Smithfield, Garner, Clayton, Dunn, Benson, Selma, Four Oaks, Pine
  Level, Newton Grove, and Coats Crossroads.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 95 between Mile Markers 101 and 70.
 Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 305 and 340.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. 
Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of natures leading 
killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to 
be struck by lightning.

The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe
limits, and no longer poses an immediate threat to life or property.
