The National Weather Service in Sioux Falls has issued a

* Tornado Warning for...
  Northern Sanborn County in east central South Dakota...
  Southeastern Beadle County in east central South Dakota...
  Northeastern Jerauld County in central South Dakota...

* Until 530 PM CDT.

* At 445 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
  was located over Alpena, or 14 miles south of Huron, moving east at
  40 mph.

  HAZARD...Tornado.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

  IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without 
           shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. 
           Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur.  Tree 
           damage is likely.

* This tornadic thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of
  northern Sanborn, southeastern Beadle and northeastern Jerauld
  Counties.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest
floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a
mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter
and protect yourself from flying debris.

This cluster of thunderstorms is capable of producing tornadoes and
widespread significant wind damage. Do not wait to see or hear the
tornado. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest
floor of a building.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

SANBORN AND SOUTHEASTERN BEADLE COUNTIES...

At 501 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
was located 10 miles south of Cavour, or 12 miles southeast of Huron,
moving east at 45 mph.

HAZARD...Tornado and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

         shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage

COUNTIES WILL EXPIRE AT 530 PM CDT...

The storm which prompted the warning has moved out of the area.
Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire.  However, gusty
winds are still possible with this thunderstorm.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 900 PM CDT for
central and east central South Dakota.

To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement
agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service
Sioux Falls.

Remember, a Severe Thunderstorm Warning still remains in effect for
northern Sanborn and southern Beadle counties until 545 PM CDT.
