DISCUSSION...
Strong northwest winds with frequent gusts of 35 to 55 mph will

critical fire spread rates, especially along and west of Highway
75, through this evening. Any fire that starts today could spread
aggressively and the winds could create dangerous fire
suppression efforts. The winds will slowly diminishing late
tonight into early Monday morning.
Additionally, flurries and light snow showers will be possible
through early evening as wrap around moisture moves through the
area. Little, if any, accumulation is expected, although isolated
accumulation up to a couple tenths will be possible across far
northeast Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas. Regardless, no winter
impacts are expected as precipitation will remain light and
temperatures will be marginal.

Spotter Activation Not Expected.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday.
MONDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY...High Wind Potential.
THURSDAY THROUGH SATURDAY...No Hazards.

and Tuesday will have higher grassland fire spread conditions due
to the stronger winds. Dry weather and unseasonably warm
temperatures return by late week into next weekend.

DISCUSSION...
Strong winds with frequent gusts of 30 to 50 mph will persist
for much of today and tonight. Initially strong southerly winds
will become northerly as a cold front sweeps rapidly eastward
across the region today. Isolated to scattered thunderstorms may
develop along the front across northwest Arkansas before quickly
moving further east. A brief window for an isolated strong to
severe storm will exist during the early afternoon hours.
Otherwise, wind gusts will intensify this afternoon as cold
air overspreads the region and these winds will aid high
grassland fire spread rates. Any fire starts today could
spread aggressively and the winds could create dangerous
fire suppression efforts. The winds will remain strong through
Sunday evening with gusts slowly diminishing late Sunday night.
SPOTTER AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ACTION STATEMENT...
Local Spotter Activation May Be Needed.
