* WHAT...Heat index values of 100 to 105 expected on Saturday.
* WHERE...Tarrant, Dallas, Wise, Denton, Collin, Hunt, Parker, Hood,
Somervell, Johnson, Ellis, Rockwall, Navarro, and Kaufman counties.
* WHEN...From noon to 9 PM CDT Saturday.
* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat-related
illnesses.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Those who will be participating in activities
outside with large crowds should take extra precautions to protect
themselves and others from heatstroke and heat exhaustion.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or late evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion
and heat stroke.
