The National Weather Service in Lincoln has issued a

* Tornado Warning for...
  Northwestern Clay County in south central Illinois...
  Southwestern Effingham County in south central Illinois...

* Until 645 PM CST.

* At 557 PM CST, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
  was located near Farina, or 13 miles southeast of Vandalia, moving
  east at 35 mph.

  HAZARD...Tornado and half dollar size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

  IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without 
           shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. 
           Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur.  Tree 
           damage is likely.

* This dangerous storm will be near...
  Edgewood around 610 PM CST.
  Mason around 615 PM CST.

This includes Interstate 57 between mile markers 142 and 155.

TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest
floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a

...A TORNADO WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 645 PM CST FOR
NORTHWESTERN CLAY AND SOUTHWESTERN EFFINGHAM COUNTIES...

At 618 PM CST, a confirmed tornado was located over Edgewood, or 15
miles south of Effingham, moving east at 35 mph.

HAZARD...Damaging tornado and half dollar size hail.

SOURCE...Weather spotters confirmed tornado. At 6:15 PM, a 
         tornado was reported near La Clede.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without 
         shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage 
         to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur.  Tree damage is 
         likely.

This tornadic thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of
northwestern Clay and southwestern Effingham Counties, including the
following locations... Hord and Effingham County Airport.

This includes Interstate 57 between mile markers 142 and 153.

was located near Mason, or 12 miles south of Effingham, moving east
at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Tornado and half dollar size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without 
         shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage 
         to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur.  Tree damage is 
         likely.

Locations impacted include...
Mason and Hord.

This includes Interstate 57 between mile markers 148 and 150.

...THE TORNADO WARNING FOR NORTH CENTRAL CLAY AND SOUTH CENTRAL
EFFINGHAM COUNTIES WILL EXPIRE AT 645 PM CST...

The storm which prompted the warning has moved out of the area.
Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 800 PM CST for south central
Illinois.

Remember, a Tornado Warning still remains in effect for portions of 
southeastern Effingham and far northern Clay counties!
