...NWS Damage Survey for 04/23/2026 Tornado Event...

.Overview...This is a preliminary statement on the six known
tornadoes during the evening of Thursday, April 23rd. Some of the 
information contained here will be updated as more information 
is gathered. Some tornadoes have been confirmed by video or 
photographs. However, initially, some of these tracks may change over 
time. 

The Enid tornado damage has a preliminary rating of EF4.

Survey Summary:
The Braman tornado began near the Garfield / Kay County line,
near the intersection of W Earth Road and N 140th Street. This
tornado moved to the east and eventually northeast, spawning at
least two satellite tornadoes. As the tornado crossed I-35 near W
Fork Road. At least EF1 damage was noted with numerous utility
lines being damaged or destroyed.

Survey Summary:
This long track tornado began to the south and west of Vance AFB
at 811 CDT. The storm moved to the northeast, producing several
EF4 points in a neighborhood just east of US81. AS the tornado
moved northeast, another set of EF4 damage was noted near S 30th
Street and E Rupe Road. Finally, the storm moved to the east,
dissipating just to the west of Enid Woodring Regional Airport.

The National Weather Service office in Norman OK will conduct a storm survey around April 24 2026 for the area near Enid in Garfield County Oklahoma. Another crew will be heading to Grant and Kay Counties, Oklahoma for the damage near Braman. The survey is in relation to the severe thunderstorms that moved through the area on April 23 2026. A final assessment including results of the survey are expected to be completed and transmitted via a Public Information Statement by April 27 2026.
