The National Weather Service in JACKSON KY has issued a

* Tornado Warning for...
  Northern Elliott County in east central Kentucky...

* Until 1115 PM EDT.

* At 1055 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a
  tornado was located over Stark, or near Sandy Hook, moving east at
  45 mph.

  HAZARD...Tornado and hail up to two inches in diameter.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

  IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without 
           shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. 
           Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur.  Tree 
           damage is likely.

* This dangerous storm will be near...
  Stark around 1100 PM EDT.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest
floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a
mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter
and protect yourself from flying debris.

Tornadoes are extremely difficult to see and confirm at night. Do not
wait to see or hear the tornado. TAKE COVER NOW!

To report severe weather contact your nearest law enforcement agency.
They will send your report to the National Weather Service office in
JACKSON KY.

ELLIOTT COUNTY...

At 1100 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
was located over Stark, or near Grayson Lake State Park, moving east
at 45 mph.

HAZARD...Tornado and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without 
         shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage 
         to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur.  Tree damage is 
         likely.

This dangerous storm will be near...
  Bruin around 1105 PM EDT.

...THE TORNADO WARNING FOR NORTHERN ELLIOTT COUNTY WILL EXPIRE AT
1115 PM EDT...

The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe
limits, and has exited the warned area. Therefore, the warning will
be allowed to expire.  However, gusty winds are still possible with
this thunderstorm.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 300 AM EDT for east central
Kentucky.

To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement
agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service
JACKSON KY.
