The National Weather Service in Springfield has issued a

* Tornado Warning for...
  Northeastern Lawrence County in southwestern Missouri...
  Western Greene County in southwestern Missouri...

* Until midnight CST.

* At 1124 PM CST, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a
  tornado was located 7 miles east of Mount Vernon, moving east at 50
  mph.

  HAZARD...Tornado.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

  IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without 
           shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. 
           Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur.  Tree 
           damage is likely.

* Locations impacted include...
  Republic, Willard, Mount Vernon, Ash Grove, Halltown, Chesapeake,
  Cave Springs, and Bois Darc.

This includes Interstate 44 between mile markers 47 and 68.
 
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest
floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a
mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter
and protect yourself from flying debris.

...THE TORNADO WARNING FOR NORTHEASTERN LAWRENCE AND WESTERN GREENE
COUNTIES IS CANCELLED...

The tornado threat has diminished and the Tornado Warning has been
cancelled. However, large hail and damaging winds remain likely and a
Severe Thunderstorm Warning remains in effect for the area.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 100 AM CST for southwestern
Missouri.

Remember, a Severe Thunderstorm Warning still remains in effect 
until 12:30AM.
